As a developing country, China has no opportunity to follow the former route of"pollution first, and control pollution later"that the developed country had taken. And we are disallowed to follow the same old disastrous road of the population problem in the 1950s on environmental problem. We must stick to the strategy of sustainable development and take a new road to industrialization. An outstanding characteristic of the new road to industrialization is to deal with the relationship of economic growth and environmental protection correctly, realize their interactive operation of industrialization and the strategy of sustainable development and set up mechanism of benign cycle with the harmonious development between economy and environment.
