Broadband IP network is now widely used by telecom operators. It is currently a popular way to get access to Internet. From the perspective of telecom operator, how to combine the mobile phone service and broadband network IP services and design reasonable prices plays a major role in the future development under the circumstance of fierce competition. To achieve this goal, we need to make better use of our broadband service, not only technically, but more importantly we need to put more efforts on the improvement of service quality.QoS is an effective indicator to demonstrate the quality of the broadband network. Studying QoS in the context of IP based operation network is of great importance and complexity, however, this area has not been paid sufficient attention. In order to provide us a tool that can monitor the network timely, one key point in the research on QoS is that we need to measure the performance of the network and service quality by measuring the flows at the level one and level two and point to point analysis of QoS as well as performance evaluation. This tool can also help operators to diagnose the network in the network and identify the bottlenecks in the network or routes. It also helps to allocate the resource effectively and provide reference for the network planning, rebuilding and diagnose of the network.QoS is important, but the essential point in evaluating the quality of broadband networks and services is the quality of experience(QoE). Basically, QoE is more concerned with the users'experience, which is to achieve the best service quality centered on customers/users. In contrast, QoS only emphasizes network performance and performance oriented management. Transformation from QoS to QoE is also related to the changes of management system. In short, QoS mainly evaluates the quality of service based on network performance. QoE mainly puts emphasis on the experience of users and deals with the network service in an integrated manner. In other words, QoS is a subset of QoE. Therefore, studying QoE plays a key role in the achievement of better quality of service and ensures the profitability of telecom operators, which should be regarded as an important research topic in the development of internet.In this study, I explored how to measure, monitor and evaluate the QoS of the broadband network IP service. This also forms the basis of a new pricing strategy based on the QoE of broadband network, through AHP algorithm and the linear equation model of customer satisfaction for broadband services to quantify the QoE. In short, the major contributions of this dissertation are as follows: (1) This study analyzed the network performance and techniques measuring QoS. Based on this, I further studied the network topology discovery, network delay and network packet loss rate distribution of speculation. The dissertation also put forward a dimensionless way to integrate a series of indicators of QoS. The results show that this method is effective in the evaluation of the target path in the network and the network performance.(2) A system to evaluate the QoE of telecom was built up to work out the relationship between indicators of QoE and QoS, resulting in the three-layer evaluation model of QoE. Through the AHP algorithm and linear weighting method, the dissertation also proposes a method to quantify the level of QoE. Based on the calculation of QoE indicators of VoIP service using data in the real network, I found that this method can effectively evaluate the experience quality of users.(3) One of the major contributions and focuses of the study is to quantify the QoE of broadband users and combine the QoS of network with the evaluation system centered on QoE. On the basis of the analysis of customer satisfaction model, I adopted the linear structural model to construct the QoE evaluation model for broadband users. Furthermore, SAS was employed to evaluate the fitness of the model. Lastly, the significance of the QoE model and its practical applications are discussed using ASDL network service.(4) The dissertation also proposes several pricing strategic model and algorithm based on the QoE of broadband IP service and experience of users. QoE -based pricing strategy is regarded to be better than the traditional usage and duration-based billing strategy. It enables users to get the most satisfactory service quality and enhance the satisfaction for operators. In addition, under the good control of the price, we can ensure the high-quality performance of the network and effective allocation of network resource.
