The research on the naval information warfare urgently requires effective theory, method and technique. The simulation method, with its repeatability and lower cost -effectiveness, has become the main supporting technique for the current studies of the naval information warfare. The related M&S theory, method and technique researches have also become an important part of the relative technical studies of the naval information warfare. Among them, the research on modeling the behavior of the naval forces, especially the combat behavior of the naval fleet, has become the most important issue in the simulation-based researches of theories, methods, and techniques of the naval information warfare. With the application background of the research on naval information warfare, the dissertation studies the methods and key techniques on modeling the network centric operation (NCO) behavior of the naval fleet in the process of the naval tactical NCO. The contents of the dissertation are as follows:(1) According to the requirements of the methods and key techniques that are used to modeling the behavior of the naval fleet in the NCO, the dissertation defines a conceptual framework of behavior based on the relative viewpoints and formal definitions about behavior. Moreover, based on the idea of "Observe-Orient-Decide-Act"(OODA) model and "Composite Agent"(CA) model, the dissertation puts forward a behavior-oriented modeling methodology of multiple composite behavior agents (MCBA) to solve the problem of technical complexity in the behavioral modeling of the naval fleet in the NCO.(2) In the light of the requirements of the method on the elementary behavior element analysis in the behavior-oriented modeling methodology of MCBA, the dissertation defines the domains of "Physical-Information-Cognitive-Organic" (PICO) based on the analysis idea contained in the definition of "Physical-Information-Cognitive-Social" (PICS) domain. Based on the PICO domain, the improved OODA and the network-centered warfare (NCW), the dissertation defines the behavior analysis reference model (BARM) by applying the conceptual framework of behavior defined above. Then a NCO behavior analysis method.is established based on BARM.(3) In term of the requirements of the method on the intrinsic mechanism analysis of the NCO behavior in the behavior-oriented modeling methodology of MCBA, the dissertation defines the formal method by extending theπ-calculus (π-EFM) after comparing the relative formal modeling methods of concurrent behavior.(4) According to the requirements of the method about modeling naval fleet based on MCBA in the behavior-oriented modeling methodology of MCBA, the dissertation gives the definition of theπ-EFM description language(πDL) based on XML. And withπDL, the dissertation defines the deriving method of the model about the behavior agents(BA), the composite behavior agent (CBA), and the multiple composite behavior agents(MCBA). Further, the dissertation defines the deriving method of the Java codes of the model of the BA, CBA, CBA and MCBA.(5) With the practical application requirements of the behavior-oriented modeling methodology of MCBA, the dissertation gives a prototype system of the MCBA modeling environment based on the above analysis. The dissertation demonstrates the availability, feasibility and validity of the theory, methods, techniques and the prototype system described above by using the simulation case of missile fast boat attacking the fleet. The main innovations of the dissertation include as follows:(1) It defines a conceptual frame of behavior, establishes the concept of CBA and puts forward the behavior-oriented modeling methodology of MCBA for the complex behavior modeling of the naval fleet in the process of NCO.(2) It defines BARM and put forwards the analysis method of NCO based on BARM which can provide support to the analysis of the elementaryl behavioral elements of the the naval fleet in the process of NCO.(3) It puts forward theπ-EFM, which supports the analysis of the intrinsic mechanism of the behavior of the naval fleet in the process of NCO.(4) It defines theπDL, which provides an implementation method of the MCBA of the NCO behavior of the naval fleet. The research of the dissertation belongs to the field of modeling theories, methods, and techniques for military simulation. It will shed light to the study of the naval information warfare.
