The interpulse stepped frequency radar is a kind of high range resolution radar, whichhas the advantages of high range-measuring accuracy and anti-jamming ability. It canobtain high range resolution and maintain the performance of narrowband system, whichdecreases the demands of receiver and signal processing hardware remarkably. Hence, ithas a great application foreground in both military and civilian areas.This dissertation is focus on the frond-end part of the millimeter stepped frequencyradar. And some key techniques are introduced in this paper.1. Based on performance parameters of interpulse stepped frequency radar, thewaveform design of this radar is studied. The ambiguity function of this waveform isderived, which establishes the foundation for theoretical and experimental research.2. Develop E-plane mental septum waveguide filter, and utilize neural network toanalysis it. Compare MLP, KBNN with different performances. Analyze some dual-modefilter configuration, and compare their test results.3. Develop and analyze a series of millimeter-wave active/passive circuits, whichinclude LNA, mixer, multiplier and so on. They are analysed in text separately, and the testresults prove the validity.4. A frequency synthesizer is designed. And the selection of loop parameters and loopstability are analyzed.5. Finally, the performance experiments of MMW interpulse stepped frequency radarare verified by mass of measurements, which settle the base of the practicability of system.
