Research And Implementation Of The Enterprise Distance Collaborative Training System

The CAI systems provide multimedia instruction materials and human-computer interaction (HCI) mode to aid human to learn. These systems mainly emphasize the instruction content. Though there have been many distributed education systems, they only support the information sharing. The essence of these systems is human-computer interaction. With the development of the information society, people's work mode has many new characteristics such as: working in a group with human-human interaction (HHI). So computer supported instruction systems should not only consider the individual learning mode, but also throw emphasis on providing the collaborative learning mode and human-human interaction.The distance instruction system is one kind of CSCW application, it concerns many research fields of CSCW, such as: HHI&HHII, the architecture of CSCW, collaboration tools and other supporting technologies. The essence difference between the distance instruction system and the CAI systems is the direct interaction among the members. There are many problems in the existing systems. First, these systems only support one way transmission by which students accept knowledge passively; second, these systems mainly support human-computer interaction without the human-human interaction, so they can not provide collaborative awareness; third, the information from students can not be fed back in time during the instruction process. The enterprise distance collaborative training system presented in this paper is based on the characteristics and demands of the enterprise. It applies the achievements of CSCW, and can support interactive teaching, coaching, discuss and information sharing, so it can support collaborative learning.
