With the population of Computers and Internet, Internet has deeply influenced the progress of human civilization. As to Internet itself, critical crossroad has emerged. On the one hand new applications and old problems bring forward higher requirements to Internet, such as mobile internet, sensor Internet, security and IP QoS, etc. On the another hand, changes to Internet have become more and more difficult, many technologies, which were advanced more than ten years ago, can not be deployed widely, for example, multicast, IPSEC, IPv6, MPLS, ASON, etc. So we need to rethink the evolutional path for Internet after a new understanding of Internet. In Chapter One, we rethink the challenge of Internet from three different views. Fisrtly the combination problem between IP net and transport net is analyzed. Secondly the IP QoS problem is viewed from the mirror of Road Network. Finally mobile internets and releated problems are discussed. The problem of "adaptation to dynamic IP traffic" is discussed in the following chapters. After introduction of some methods which have been studied, we discuss the related problems of VLB (Valiant Load Balance) in Chapter Two. A new AIP (Alternate protocol) method is promoted in Chapter Three. A looser condition is given in the selection of loop-free alternate interfaces. And we put forward the details of the algorithm, basic operations of AIP and also the initial simulation results. The thesis focuses the problem of Internet architecture evolution in the...
