Research On Testing Technolgy Of Web Applications

With the rapid development of information technology, Web applications have become prevalent around the world and been used widely in the various application areas . Gradually, Web applications have turned into the major form of software development at present and in the future. Because web applications have features of distribution, concurrent and independence of platform, Web applications testing is more difficult than traditional software testing. Therefore, new challenges have flung down in the software testing areas.Research on Web applications testing should be enhanced continuously in order to guarantee the quality and reliability of more and more complex Web applications. In fact, it is very important to put forward good testing models, testing strategies, testing levels and testing process based on enough analysis and understanding for carrying out effective Web applications testing. Although there are some achievements about these problems, it is necessary to further study. In this article, structure testing, function testing, statistics testing and performance testing of Web applications are studied based on lots of documents and efforts. In the firstly, an object-oriented testing model and a web link model based on Petri Net are presented after analysis of characters and fault sources of Web applications. The methods and strategies of unit testing, integration testing and navigation testing of Web applications are described later. In the secondly, In order to support statistics testing, a Web statistics testing usage model(WSUM) and methods for test suites generation based WSUM are illustrated . In the thirdly, A web performance testing model(WPTM) is given while summing up web performance testing process. Finally, three testing tools which the author take part in to develop are introduced, one of tools named TLS system has already become a part of software quality assurance platform of xi'an "863" incubator.
