With more learning technology systems put into application, systematic quality view and benefit view start to draw more attention. To produce a high quality learning technology system is a complicated systematic engineering. During the design and development of learning technology systems in China, professionals are confronted with many questions, which accordingly reflect that an advanced systematic framework to direct the systematic design and development is greatly in need.Based on deep invetigations into a number of E-learning software projects and integrating up-to-date theories, standards and practices regarding the design of learning technology system, this author proposed a basic guidance framework and put it into project practices. The whole framework aims to solve the design and development problems of learning technology systems, with a focus on the systems' life cycle. The whole framework uses a continuous pedigree to show the directions and choices during the design and development of the system. The thesis is divided into eight chapters.Chapter one: Firstly, the chapter analyses the background of the learning technology system pedigree framework and some relevant documents and files, and gives a list of the key elements of some proved and successful learning technology system solutions. After putting forward the concept of the learning technology system pedigree framework, the summary of the concept is given with focus on the framework's advantage. The framework is a series of principles, models, criterions, outputs and tools designed for the implementation of E-learning, in a bid to provide support and help for the strategy, design, development, evaluation and service of the learning technology system.Chapter two: The chapter analyses the E-learning definition in terms of technology, learning mode and learning process, and then gives the concept of learning technology system, followed by the review of the development of the learning technology system. The chapter offers a categorised framework based on technology delivery and learning mode, classifying all kinds of common learning technology systems. Finally, a main supporting technology of the system is introduced.Chapter three: The chapter gives a shore introduction of the strategy framework and provides the basic principles of the strategic framework. Then the chapter gives more space to the in-depth illustration of four framework models including goal maturity model, key element model, team model, and process model. The chapterprovides the output; criterion and assistant tool of the framework in the end. The guidance of the strategic framework can make the planners gain reliability; usability; economy and manageability from the systematic planning.Chapter four: The design framework and its basic principles are introduced at first.. Then the chapter analyses six design framework models including content architecture; platform architecture; interoperation macro model; process model; team model; process model and standard dataflow model. The chapter provides the output; criterion and assistant tool of the framework in the end. The guidance of the strategic framework can make designer carry out the integrated design; thus obtain a panoramic view of the system design.Chapter five: The chapter starts with a summary of the development framework and provides the basic principles of the framework. Then the chapter analyses three development framework models including team model; development method and process model. The chapter provides the output; criterion and assistant tool of the framework in the end. The guidance of development framework can make developers carry out the content and platform development; thus obtain the accuracy and efficiency.Chapter six: The chapter gives a brief introduction of the evaluation framework and its basic principles. Then the chapter analyses three evaluation framework models including team model; instrument model and process model. The chapter provides the output; criterion and assistant tool of the framework in the end. The guidance of evaluation framework can make evaluation staff carry out products evaluation; thus judge the validity of the products.Chapter seven: Service framework and its service framework basic principles are put forward. Then the chapter analyses three service framework models including team model; service element model and process model. The chapter provides the output; criterion and assistant tool of the framework in the end. The guidance of service framework can make servers provide effective technological and teaching support; thus yield economic returns.Chapter eight: The chapter introduces the practice background of the learning technology system pedigree framework at first; then provides a knowledge base prototype based on the framework. In the end; the application of the pedigree framework in the Shanghai Educational Resources Centre; Multimedia Educational Resource Management Platform Based on Linux and Shanghai TV University distance education platform are introduced respectively.
