Agent is not only restricting in artificial intelligent domain and becoming a newly developed scheme of software developing as the technology advancing and the practice extending. As a scheme of software developing, the internal architecture of agent should be studied as well as the architecture of multi-agent system and the method of modeling of MAS, to provide person who concern the system developing more view of the system, in order to enhance the efficiency of system developing and improve the quality of the system.Nowadays, most of research on multi-agent system is focused on the infrastructure of MAS, scarcely on the application system developing based on the infrastructure-requirement acquirement & analyses, system design, system realization, system test, system deployment, etc. The most weakness in MAS research is system requirement and architecture analyses of application system based on MAS.This dissertation focuses on the system modeling of application system based on infrastructure of MAS, and to demonstrate the feasibility & efficiency of this modeling method. This paper proposed improved FIPA architecture of MAS-A Parliamentary Architecture of Multi-Agent System after has studied several classical infrastructures of MAS, especially FIPA. The paper also proposed a method of extending UML to model Agent system.The dissertation presents architecture of MAS called Parliamentary Architecture. It employs the concepts of management role and councilman role to perform management tasks and to speak for the agent community. The mechanism of electing public servant role can significantly enhance the capability of self-organization. In order to achieve the interoperability of legacy system, the architecture allows for two types of communication languages: global communicative language and local communicative language. It briefly introduces a case to illustrate the architecture at the end of the paper.The Parliamentary Architecture of MAS is an improved FIPA architecture, it is better than FIPA in three aspects: 1) One Critical Point Problem, which is a main weakness in FIPA architecture during the system running. In FIPA architecture, Management Agent, DF what provide directory service, is only one. The system is hardly to recover once the special agents are failure, and will result the whole system is failure. 2) System Self-organization Problem. It is inherited 00 thought in FIPA architecture. System designer assigned the tasks take by every computational entity. The roles which one agent takes on are the same ones during it running. FIPA architecture is hardly to perform self-organizing when some computational entities failed. 3) The Integration of Legacy System. The newly developed system architectureshould consider how to accommodate the legacy system. If the architecture could not do this, then it is apparently limitation to be adopted. If it does, what cost to pay to accommodate the legacy system? FIPA failed to consider the accommodation of legacy system. It is one of important issues to integrate newly developed system and legacy system as the Agent-based system is becoming mainly model.The dissertation focused the research on application system based on multi-agent infrastructure, presented the method of requirement acquiring based on social role and social relationship, also the method of system analyses based on agent and interaction relationship.Multi-agent infrastructure is a platform on which the agents are running, providing communicating, life cycle management, directory service, communication language & mechanism, global Ontology etc. This paper doesn't take the agent as part of the infrastructure, because the agents may be heterogeneous residing on the infrastructure. Ideally, system's infrastructure provides the agents that reside on it the same services, regardless its inner architecture.Application system based on multi-agent system consists of agents have different inner architecture; they coordinate or compete to achieve public and its own goals.
