The Hall sensor is one of the most mature and widely used magnetic sensors. As we all know, it can be used to measure not only magnetic field, but current, velocity, position, angle and rotate speed. As a key component, Hall sensors are wide playing role in precisely measure, automotive electronics, industrial control, home electrical products and so on. The study in this thesis is part of the project "the research and development on automotive phase sensors" supported by the Science and Technology Fund of Shanghai Automobile Industry. In this thesis, we pay attention to some theoretic key techniques on Hall vane sensors, namely automotive phase sensors.First, Hall effect principle and Hall-effect performance of some semiconductors are introduced here. We also introduce some high-performance Hall elements and some none-plate-like Hall magnetic sensors.Second, the circuit configuration and design principle of Hall IC fabricated in Si bipolar process were considered. Through analyzing and simulation, we understand the basic design technology of integrated Hall switches,including the temperature compensation and resistance regulation. As a result, we designed the layout and schemetic of a Si bipolar integrated Hall switch,and did the simulation from -40-+150. Bipolar and CMOS IC converse design were also proceeded.The whole process about a CMOS IC including IC design,plate making and chip process were finished well.Finally, some magnetic system and the operating principle of Hall vane sensor were described.The material were analyzed and choosed by the principle.The magnetization curve were also illustrated.the Hall vane sensor was designed and simulated with FEA Software ANSYS in this thesis. The static and dynamic simulation methods were established and proved to be accurate enough by simulating Honeywell 2AV series Hall vane sensors. Through Substituting Sm2Co17 permanent magnet for AlNiCo8 permanent magnet in the AINiCo Hall device, then revising andoptimizing it, we got a new highly precise Hall vane sensor which had the same performance as the original one and lower cost.The characteristic parameter of this new highly precise Hall vane sensor is up to the mustard,and pass the OTS inspection in UAES.The testing apparatus were designed and made by ourselves,to test and calculate the characteristic parameter of Hall vane sensor.The simulation method and the testing apparatus are very instructive to the mass-production of the Hall vane sensors.In conclusion, some important studies on Hall sensors have been made. These works would be helpful to the development and mass-production of Hall sensors.
