WDM has promoted greatly the development of optical communications,optical net based on WDM technology will become the main transmitting flat roof in telecom net.In WDM,with increasing the channel density,a new kind of optical component,Interleaver,emerges as the times require.In this paper,several main Interleaving technologies are analyzed quite deeply,and MGTI interleaver is investigated experimentally,one prototype device with better experiment results is achieved.1. The principles of MGTI Interleaver is analyzed.Through discussing the relation of its output spectra characters and design parameters,we get successfully the best design parameters and rectangle interleaved spectra;Thinking over practical requirement of WDM system, the design parameters of 50GHz Interleaver and their errors are presented carefully; According to the spectral function of F-P interferometer with multi-mirror,we discuss the spectra character of G-T resonator,and analyze the dispersion of MGTI Interleaver;the effect of the polarization effect of splitter on isolation of MGTI Interleaver is analyzed experimentally and theoretically.2. The Interleaver with channel spacing of 50GHz is designed and prototype device is achieved. We test experimentally the interleaved spectrum in the C-band which is rectangle with ripple of less than 0.1 dB.And through measuring its time delay ,we obtain the character of its dispersion. A novel architecture of 50GHz MFPI Interleaver with different passband widths is put forward at first.3. The principle of the Interleaver based on the interference of polarized light is analyzed theoreticallyand the interleaver architecture of this kind is presented. A 50GHz interleaver is designed and the two series of interleaved spectrum like cosine function is obtained experimentally; By using the tandem of two birefringent crystals with different optical path difference,we get the flattop spectrum.4. The principle of the Interleaver with output spectra similar to cosine function ,based on MZI, is analyzed theoretically. By using the tandem of two MZIs, we get the flattop spectrum; Last,grounding on the polarized light interference and multi-beam interference ,we analysis the principle of BGTI Interleaver, and simulate the relations between output spectra and reflectance of G-T resonator. Furthermore the flattop output spectrum of BGTI Interleaver is achieved.
