Time-grating displacement sensor, which is used to measure displacement precisely, is a creative invention. Many experts in displacement measurement agree with its principle and emergent novelty. Compared with traditional grating-mode displacement sensor, its advantage is distinguished for its simple structure, simple manufacturing process,low cost, anti-jamming and so on. It has much commercial prospect if it is industrialized. So to study time-grating through theoretical analysis and experiment has far researching significance and applied cost.Study on field-mode time-grating displacement sensor is a research project supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China. Based on theoretical analysis, the author of this paper studied field-mode time-grating displacement sensor through a lot of experiment. And a set of field-mode time-grating displacement measuring system is developed, which not only approved the theory of field-mode time-grating but also laid foundation for further industrialization. The following is chief research contents:① Based on time-space coordinate transformation theory, the time-space coordinate transformation system is summed up which intuitively shows the relationship between space coordinate, uniform motion coordinate and time coordinate in time-space coordinate transformation.② Replaces the rotating mechanical part in mechanical-mode time-grating with rotating flux, thus a new kind of sensor to measure displacement precisely is formed.③ From doing experiment with induction motor to making the framework of the rotator and stator from non ferromagnetic material , is of great creativity based on induction motor theory, which simplifies the structure of the sensor and increase the maneuverability of experiment research. And this is an important step to industrialize the sensor.④ Designs a new kind of time-grating displacement measuring system which can not merely realize accurate displacement measurement but also adapt to the trend of development of sensor , also which has function of information sharing, highly intelligent, self diagnoses and remote calibration.⑤ The scheme and equipment of comparison experiment is designed. A large amount of experiment is carried out. Each component of field-mode time-grating is compared. The basic structure and parameter of every component is defined.⑥Sums up the method to bury static and moving probe from a large amount of experiment data which have improved the quality of the signal greatly and offered the essential assurance for improving the precision of measuring.⑦ A large amount of experiments is carried out systematically. The prototype of a field-mode time grating is developed. The main technical parameter of the prototype is defined.In a word, on the basis of theoretical research, this paper verifies the space-time coordinate transformation theory and field-mode time-grating theory through doing experiments in a large amount. The rotating mechanical part in mechanical-mode time-grating is replaced by the rotating flux that established by three-phase winding, which overcome the defect of mechanical-mode time-grating and improve the accuracy of time-grating and widen the measurement field from angular displacement to angular displacement and linear displacement. Meanwhile the prototype of a field-mode time grating is developed which lay a solid foundation for further commercialization.
