In this thesis, it is concerned with that the remote sensing method is applied to the evaluation of ecological geological environment, as an example, on the inland river basin in the arid northwest China. Firstly, on the base of analysis synthetically the forward study on the eco-environment and oasis in arid zone, detailed introduction to the basic RS theory and method. Secondly, the transpiration and evaporation were calculated by using quantitatiive remote sensing method, solving the difficulty on how to determine these two drainage amounts. At the same time, groundwater modeling was taken. Then thirdly, on the review of vegetation indices development, NDVI was selected to evaluate the evolvement of Hetian oasis at space-time scale. Combined with the groundwater modeling results, attempt has made to find the relation between the spatial distribution area of the natural oasis and the depth of groundwater. Lastly, during the processing of NOAA/AVHRR data, a soil-line adjustment method for atmospheric correction has been developed for solving the problem occurred when comparing different satellite data.
