0ptical 3--D profilometry is used as tools widely for industrymeasurement, machine vi si on, reverse engineering, profi le mode1 ing, shoemaking engineer, biomedical industry, etc. 0ne of its typica1applications is to make shoe or costume facing to individual. This paper investigates the system, which is composed of multip1elaser stripe sensors, to profile foot and shoe moda1. At the same time, the paper proposes the technique of calibrating by single sensor andmul t iple sensors, regi strat ing and merging of 3--D range data, des igningthe hardware and software. The main results obtained can be summarized as fol1owing:1: Propose the design, analysis and processing of the cal ibrationstandard. The ca1ibration standard has three tilted planes. And eachplane can create two Look--up tables to ca1ibrate the system. Becausethe standard has some characteristics, it can ca1ibrate its threeoptical subsystems in para1lel mode, so the process can be implementingin a high speed.2: Propose a who1e blueprint of the 3--D 0ptical Multi--sensorsProfilometry System. ImPlement the most important parts of hardwareand software subsystems of the system, it can profi le some rigid andsoft objects.3: Propose the Depth Expanding Algorithm for the first time. Themethod provides an efficient algorithm in finding the system' s calibration parameter, and reduces the requirement of the module' s manufacturing precision.4: Implement the registration and merging of 3-D range data produced by triple laser stripe sensors. The final data can be used by Shoemaking-CAD.
