Because data visualization requires dealing with huge amount of information, and has a comparably complicated method to establish its image generation algorithm. We usually oblige to use huge computers or advanced graphical work station to dealing with its image information. In recent years, microcomputer's performance has greatly improved. It is possible to realize volume visualization for medical tomography by using of microcomputers. This article proposed a method of volume visualization in detail. The method based on microcomputers by analyzing each process of volume visualization for medical tomography. As for the high gray grade of the image taken from CT, this document put forwards and realizes an algorithm that based on statistics and non-linear auto gray level display. Compared with traditional displaying method that based on linear window width and window center, this method largely increased visual scope. Because images taken from CT have large amount of high gray level of fake shadows, in using traditional methods such as the method of threshold, it is not easy to clip away or filter down the fake shadows it produced. It not only largely increased the data volume of the established 3 dimension data, but it seriously affected the effects of the volume rendering as well. This document put forwards and realizes a filter algorithm that based on mathematical morphology. It can efficiently reduce the machine fake shadows. As different medical graphics equipment provides different emphasized point of human's physiological information, the combination of different images taken from the same physiological position of human body can provide further all-sided information. In considering of these points, the article put forwards and realized an image fusion algorithm that based on the second generation wavelet transform. It provides an ideal foundation for the establishment of the multi-parameter blending volume data. Providing a kind of computed method to display volume rendering which is suitable to microcomputer processing will greatly reduce the amount of computation and the operation speed is 4 or 5 times as fast as that of the traditional method. As for the dark-to-light computation in direct volume rendering, the article put forwards and adopts an algorithm that based on 2 dimension gray grads. It really provides a good result.
