At recent year, with the development of CPA and other amplification technology, laser intensity achieved great increase and laser power can be high to Petawatt now, this ultrashort pulse lasers offer scientists a route to investigate laser-matter interaction in an absolute new regime.So far the researches on ultrashortpulse laser-matter interaction concentrated on infrared regime, yet ultraviolet laser has the advantage in intense field physics and ICF researches for its short wavelength and less nonlinear effects. KrF excimer is the best medium in UV ultrashort pulse amplification for its small saturation energy and high contrast ratio accessible.This work concentrated on UV ultrashort pulse amplification by discharge pumped and e-beam pumped KrF amplifier, and build a high power KrF laser system in the feature.We built a table-top ultrashort laser system which based on Ti: sapphire front-end and discharge pumped KrF amplifier. With double pass off-axis amplification module , the ImJ UV pulse was amplified to 50mJ. and the pulse duration was compressed from 420 to 220fs by compensated GVD broadening with prism pairs, the intensity achieved on target reached 1017W/cm2. Furthermore, the 50mJ UV pulse was boosted to 2-3J by e-beam pumped amplifier, the laser power reached as high to 2TW.
