Manufacturing companies are continuously facing changes in market demands and in their environmental/societal environment. Such market and environment pressures are decreasing product prices, faster delivery times, increasing product variety, after sales service, new environmental laws new laws on labour conditions, etc. These changes endanger the subsistence of the manufacturing companies. In order to survive, manufacturing systems need to adapt themselves at an everincreasing pace to in corporate new technology, new products, new organizational structures, etc. This creates the need for novel manufacturing control systems that are able to manage such mod jfications both effectively and efficiently. In order to achieve their goal, these new control systems need to adopt and translate information technology concepts to the manufacturing domain. The main works of this paper are as follow: 1) According to deeply analyzing and researching on the traditional shop floor control system. Based on distributed structure and Object-Orient, a mobile Agent model of manufacturing cell is created upon Agent and Mobile Agent. 2) On the basis of 1), according to principle of holonic, an Mobile Agent based Holonic Manufacturing CeIl(MAHMC)model is proposed. In this model, Pricing Adjustment algorithm was applied to improve robustness and global optimasation 3) In MAHMC model created above, two new algorithms are introduced. One of that GA is used to settle the job-scheduling problem with deadline, and the other is that the FNN is combined with pricing adjustment algorithm. These two algorithms make the system have the characteristic of adaptation and learning. 4) Human play a very important role in running the system, so in this dissertation a human-computer interface is developed. Combined with FNN, II the program can learn the knowledge of human expert and the rules of control system, and mimic these knowledge and rules in shop floor control. 5) The model is realized preliminary. Based on CORBA and Internet, the manufacturing cell object framework is built up, which can be applied to design distributed system, using this framework designer can 揳ssemble? system freely.
