At the dawn of the 21st century, no matter from what point of view, no one can ignore the fact that we have experienced an information explosive period, especially in the second half of the last century. Television as the Products of modern science and technology, has brought great impact which should not be overlooked on our social, political and cultural life, and it's also called the most influential and powerful media which has the most widely audience. In the television era, the majority people got the information form TV, especially the one who grew up surrounded by the image. As the American scholar Daniel Bell said:"The contemporary culture is becoming a visual culture, rather than a print culture, this is absolutely the truth." and as the basic tenets "seeing is believing,", people take whether television reported the incident as a yardstick to determine the truth. Then it has great significance whether it's the truth on TV.As a medium, since the birth of television in 20th century, it has inevitably fell into distorting the truth. It is very difficult to tell that's an unbridgeable gap or just its secret "mission". There are numerous issues about the true or false have been the focus of television:Whether the real image means the truth? Why it has been distorted after reported by another TV media? Whether it is still the truth after packaged by entertainment or it has been distorted in the day of the "entertainment" has become the trump card. China Central Television used the exact reproduction of the sample in "Oriental Horizon " in 1995, and it caused widely discussion and debate in the area of real documentary.Before start this issue, it is necessary to definite the "name" in advance, namely to clarify the scope of this study. The television programs can be divided into fiction and non-fiction. It is natural to be excluded outside the scope of this paper because of the features of the fiction program. This article will focus on the spin zone of non-fiction TV program, e.g. the TV news programs, television documentaries, reality shows and talk shows which base on the reality.Following is the significance of this study:Why the truth distortion on TV exist from the angle television itself, television and from the view of television audience. And how does it exist? Stripping the old point of view about the "truth", the thesis based on the distortion behind the real image and provides the new perspective for studying the TV media. From the "distortion" to the deeper level, it offers a new academic perspective to understand the TV's existing state as a media and a comprehensive interpretation of the television to promote the sustainable development of television media.
