This thesis centers on the Education of the Ulm School of Design, including its education thoughts and conversion of the education policy, and especially focuses on the history of design education and practice in the School after the World War Two. Since the establishment of its concept "Unity of New Culture", the Ulm School of Design made Bauhaus's inheritance and criticism on the education system as its watershed, and always laid emphasis on the adjustment of its development direction and education orientation. As the scientific courses weighed more in its curriculum, the Ulm School of Design once diverted from its only-Methodology. Although it reassessed and reconsidered the orientation of its design subject, the Ulm School of Design, as a private institute, found great difficulties maintaining its superiority in the German education reform which centered on the public education. As the contradiction and its financial crisis became sharper, the School was closed. As its staff scattered on the different parts of the world, its education thoughts found seedbeds in the design education and design schools around the world.This thesis starts from the inheritance, criticism, revision and reconsideration of "Art" and "Science" in the education system in the Ulm School of Design, and explores analysis of the design concept of the design disciplines. Meanwhile, the Ulm School of Design will be the best model criticism for the Bauhaus inheritance can also be inherited as our critical Ulm School of Design. Education as an entry point to the intervention of scientific discourse to enrich the design methodology, the nationalization of the management situation, the autonomy and independence of academic pursuit, the design based on social responsibility and ethical reflection the exclusion of the consumerism and critical thought, etc. These issues have a clear grasp of the complicated history from the text of Ulm School of Design presents the follow-up effects and a range of issues of contemporary significance. Thesis believes that the study of education thoughts in the Ulm School of Design shall not only find value and meaning present the facticity of its education thoughts and approach diversion, but also the Ulm School of Design itself can not avoid the contradictions and tragic. It excluded art, color in the post-modern society clearly does not meet the demands of multiculturalism. Only at the time of industrialization and modernization of their design ideas in the mastery of the position to be accurate, to the development of design education in China for the adjustment of aspect relations provide some reference.
