The Worship Of Mountain Sprite And The Indentification Of A Village

It is a main method to know about the area society by worship the god in the researches of sociology ,anthropology and history. Religious sphere is a widely used concept in this sense.With this paradigm, this paper is based on observing and studying the religious sphere of mountain sprite in a village. The village mentioned in the paper is called Hexi vallage and located in the Changbai mountain in northeast of china. There are a great number of Korean Chinese and a few Han nationality Villagers. By the investigation of this religious sphere, an anthropology of Korean Chinese village should be completed.This paper consists of four parts--the social background, the social condition, theproduction process of the religious sphere of mountain sprite and the effect on the village communitu. In fact, this paper shows a process about how to exploit and extend their religion to build a religious sphere across different ethnicity, for Korean Chinese in the village.The paper consider that the religious sphere can be built base on the culture memory of the Korean Chinese village and the advantage position of the ethnicity in the community. Athough the directly motivation come from some occasional events, the power of administration and market and the native request exert a great influence.In this paper, the sense of the religious sphere of the religion of mountain sprite to the village express two points:Firstly, the religious sphere creates a shared property relation .Secondly, the religious sphere makes sure the alternation of the village's power. Which combines the power of administration with the native logic. The religious sphere expresses a standard of self-identification by condensing the feeling sphere of "qi" and distinguishing the people in the village with the ones out of village. This standard is dealing with the two markets within the village and out of the village and the power of collapsing the village community the Chistians have brought.Finally, the paper also express a localization process of Hexi village's Korean Chinese ethnicity. Its sign is the Compose culture the core of which is the religious sphere of mountain sprite. Of course ,the Han nationality villagers have experienced a process of localization. So the Korean Chinese are the focus in the paper. However, the Han nationality should be refened to because it is the real condition.
