Prominent effects have been made in disciplinary construction of our country with the development of Project 211 and Project 985 in higher school. Lack of consideration of comprehensive, systematic and scientific, however, some problems existing in it are come forth in recent years. For each discipline being the reflection of a part or a profile of the world, all these require us break through the traditional notion and survey it from holism in order to know the objective world comprehensive, while theories and tools for research just be provided by synergetic theory and ecology. So, research on the evolution of discipline using the theory of ecology has been the vital task to promote the development of discipline and the disciplinary construction.Viewing from ecology, and using theories of systematic science, science of science, management and so on, disciplinary coevolution, it was proposed based on ecosystem metaphor, would model its concept, characteristic, elements, levels, structure and environment, all this make up of the theoretical system of disciplinary coevolution by various methods including transplant and metaphor, simulation, demonstration, content analysis, history analysis and system analysis etc.Tracing back to the evolvement of discipline, disciplinary coevolution, we think, is the evolvement motivated by two ways of relationship, one is inter the discipline and the other is between the disciplines. After that, two patterns are pointed out, self-organization and competition & complementarity. The main models of inter the discipline is self-organization, and the other is competition & complementarity. Then, mechanisms of coevolution of disciplinary ecosystem are revealed that lack of resource and the overlap of disciplinary niche lead to the competition, while transplant of theories and methods between the disciplines lead to complementarity.Based on qualitative analysis, simulation models of two disciplinary coevolution, competition and complemetarity, are constructed by Matlab and grounded on Logistic equation. The result of simulation has proved the mechanism and the importance role of made in it.At last, taking Tianjin University for example, from social aspects, which is can be controlled by outer, this paper analyzes the coevolution of discipline, simulates it by some tools such as SPSS, Matlab and Vensim, concentrated by statistic data and survey, put forward problems exited and some countermeasures.
