Higher Education Diversification

Tbe basic contradiction of higher education in our country is that "apoor country has to support a large educational scaIe", i.e. the contradictionbetWeen the urgent necd fOr higher education development and the shortageof public financial resources, The basic way to solve this contradiction lics inthe realization of pIuralistic school-run-body. That is to say, we shouldpersist in giving priority to government-run higher education, changing thesystem of government-run universities and colleges positively. At thc sametime, 've should exert the enthusiasm of social force fully, develop all kinds ofnon-governmcnt-run higher cducation and associate to run a schooI bctWcennon-government schools and public schooIs, Chinese univcrsities and fOreignuniversities.This dissertation includes fivc chapters.The first chapter explores the history of higber education system in ourcountry, the characteristics and abuses of singIe-government-run highereducation system, the significance and opportunities of the realization ofpluralistic school-run-body.The second chapter discusses the history and actuaIity of private highereducation in American, Japan and Russia. Although thc concrctc models arenot accordant, these thrce countries have the samc current in thedevclopment of higher education. This current is the transfOrm fromdepending on the single fOrce to develop higher cducation to the realizationof pluralistic on school-run-body. At tbe base of comparative study, I willconcIude that the rcalization of pluralistic on school-run-body is inevitabIechoice to dcvc1op higher education in our country fOr the nonce.The third chaptcr probes into the actuality of higher education on therealization of pluraIistic on school-run-body.
