With the current development of higher education in China as the macro-context and the picture of moral education as the micro-context, this dissertation arrives at the ensuing four kinds of theories on moral education, namely, leading moral education, principium moral education, subjective moral education, and objective moral education after a meticulous pondering of moral education researches both at home and abroad. Accordingly an expounding definition on moral education has been painstakingly discussed and refined. As the crucial guiding principle for moral education in colleges, the idea of "Moral Education First" has been fully interpreted and investigated regarding its connotation, which lays a solid theoretical foundation for implementing the idea of "Moral Education First" in college with high efficiency. Here "Moral Education First" is defined as an idea or instructing guideline, which is realized by the priority of moral education to others because of its guiding strength when education is fleshed out. Actually, the priority of moral education is far from enough if it is to be enriched fully in colleges. To patch up the holes, moral education must be motivated towards a right leading direction, especially with the needs from moral education satisfied first, and the moral education improved in terms of quality along the ladder of development, all of which together contribute to the sustainable development of moral education in a real sense. Based on the preceding analysis, the Moral Education String Theory is proposed in this dissertation as a new one about moral education. To be specific, its framework is powerful enough to reflect the latest development in the filed of moral education, with a hope to facilitate the advancement of moral education towards originality as well as to broaden the theoretical perspective in the current field of moral education studies. With its core part lying in the detailed study of Moral Education String as the composing element in college moral education, the dissertation attempts to start an undertaking from this micro-perspective not only for the sake of originality. At the same time, Moral Education String has been given to a full display in illustrating and demonstrating its definition, connotation as well as its theoretical construction, where interdisciplinary research findings have been explored so as to nail down its working mechanism while reaching a convincing conclusion. In fact, the Moral Education String Theory is aimed at shedding light on the nature and the underlying rules behind moral education from a micro-perspective via focusing on Moral Education String, the most fundamental unit for moral education research. Finally, the theoretical framework is composed out of the elements concerned. Inherently the Moral Education String Theory is teased from the integration of multiple disciplines regarding theoretical foundation, including philosophy, biology, physics and moral education theories, etc al. As a result, several new concepts have been proposed in the framework of the Moral Education String Theory, such as Moral Education String, the system of Moral Education String, the quantity of Moral Education String, the coefficient of Moral Education String, and the system dimensions of Moral Education String. What's more, it is brought to light that Moral Education String consists of hyperspace concepts in five dimensions, and they are feasible to mathematical modeling where these five dimensions witness detailed description within three-dimensional space. After a thorough analysis of the current state of college moral education, the major problems that cripple the idea of "Moral Education First" have been summarized. Finally the ways-out about how to conduct moral education and how to fulfill the idea of "Moral Education First" are put forward through the theoretical sharpness and tenacity of the Moral Education String Theory.
