This dissertation uses a Chinese village community in Henan as the fieldwork-site, carries on thick description of the way of child rearing by the way of ethnology, inquiries into local people's history and the present condition about "children brought up" problem, and makes uses of theory model of ethnology to carry on the culture explanation about the bringing up method of children in local community.Dissertation mainly uses methods such as historical document, fieldwork, etc, to possibly completely obtain the cultural facts of the local children brought up methods, according to the concept of ethnology "holistic", the dissertation places these facts into the local cultural context to understand. So this dissertation beginning with the cultural environment of community firstly, accounts for natural and cultural background of the community. Then from five levels on "choice of mate", "productive values," "breeding practices and delivery practices," "Child rearing methods" and doing business with the migrant labor upbringing children left behind result from mobile labor force going out for work, the dissertation carries on thick description to children brought up methods. The whole description and analysis pay attention to the horizontal contact within cultural factors constituting the children brought up methods, as well as in consideration of the change of the children brought up method in time vertical on the degree.In the dissertation, the author thinks that children in the process of its growth are always based on a series of cultural needs of its culture, and to achieve local cultural heritage from generation to generation. Therefore, the way children's upbringing is a composite system of local cultural needs, including customs, beliefs, taboos, education, marriage values and social and cultural changes, etc to understand bringing up children. Accordingly, the dissertation generally comes to three conclusions:1, Child rearing methods is an important means of local culture reproduction and inheritance. By bringing children, children are growing up in the infiltration of the local culture, continue to the internalization of local culture, and conduct daily guidance.2, The author believes that changes in bringing children are from the result of a variety of factors, and very difficult role of a single reason alone, but some reason may play a major significant effect during a certain period.3, The "great tradition" and "little tradition" is two-way interaction, and the existence of broad, deep, frequent collisions. They affect each other in the village community together to shape the village culture. Meanwhile, in the interactive process between the two, there is a choice to choose some sort of constant adjustment, according to their need for certain factors, and they will make some compromise with each other, and ultimately re-creation of culture. The dissertation is divided into three parts:the first part is an introduction. which covers the origins and significance of the study, related literature review and research perspective, the definition of core concepts, research methods and Shagang Village location, history, natural and cultural resources, social and economic.The second part is the main thesis divided into six chapters:the villagers'the spouse of customs, birth concept, birth customs and delivery practices, children rearing methods, rear the left children, etc., and from the vision of cultural change,exposing the Shagang Village changes of the way child rearing.The third part is conclusion. In this section, the author comes to several conclusions:children tending way according to local cultural needs; the children's upbringing changes caused by the state; "Little Tradition" and the "great tradition" interaction from the two-way.
