The Study Of Cultivating The National Spirit In China Educational System

To exalt and cultivate the national spirit is not only the necessity of constituting harmonious society in China, but also is the emphasized spiritual drive for realizing Chinese nation's resurgence. Therefore, only by exalting and cultivating the national spirit can China remain highly vivifying, creative and coherent. Through some investigations, this dissertation tried to explore into the ways to further exalting and cultivating the national spirit of the new period in China's educational system. This dissertation consists of five parts.In the first part, the origin of the national spirit and the current literature on it home and abroad were demonstrated, and also the relationship between the concept & function of national spirits and the national consciousness & culture was analyzed. The author holds the view that the national spirit acknowledged as thinking, morality and value orientation by the majority of the national members is formed and developed on the basis of a nation's common livelihood and social practice for ages, and the national spirit expresses a nation's psychological features, cultural tradition, thinking and feelings. As Comrade JiangZeming once pointed out that the great national spirit of China means consolidation, assiduity, bravery, pursuit of peace and excellence.In the second part, the research on the national spirit education in America, Korea, France and German was demonstrated.In the third part, the surveys and analysis on the current national spirit education in China were demonstrated. The questionnaires were handed out to students and teachers of primary schools, high schools, colleges and universities in order to know about the current situations and the problems existing in the national spirit education.
