Aiming at some distinct problems in the development strategy of road freightage in our country and according to the "3-phase" object of sustainable and leaping development, the development actuality of road freightage of China will be considered in this thesis. The basic theory of several disciplines such as transportation economics, operations research, systems engineering and traffic engineering will be also used to establish mathematic models for making a scientific research on road freightage. To each problem, the stress is laid on analyzing the essential characters of road freightage in expectation of providing some scientific theoretical support to the coming development strategy of road freightage in our country. The main contents of the thesis are as follows:1. Actuality study of road freightage. After analyzing the actuality of the correlative parts of road freightage synthetically, such as road, vehicle, transport structure, transport system, transport policy, transport organization, and so on, this chapter points out several major reasons that restricted the development of road transit in our country: The actual road network, which is characterized by insufficient transportation volume, unreasonable hiberarchy and low technical rank, can't satisfy the needs of a rapidly developing national economy and completely well-to-do society. As the nodes of the network, stations and fields for road passenger and freight transportation lag behind in construction, consequently their functions are not in suit for further development. Most of them are typical of single function and oversimplified establishment, so it's an urgent task to improve the construction speed of main road terminal. Trucks need improving. Firstly, A majority of trucks are medium-sized and unsheeted trucks, and the number of special type motors, such as heavy truck and container truck, can only account for a small portion in total vehicles. Secondly, the rate of top grade passenger cars is lower, technical performance is lag, economic property and comfortableness have low quality. Thirdly, old vehicles are very familiar, which account for 25% of the total vehicles. Fourthly, transport with low efficiency abounds in our country. Tractors, farming motor vehicles and non-motorized vehicles are still in business operation;road transit system lag behind basic road establishment in development, so there is no obvious progress in the efficiency and benefit of road transport after the basic road establishment has been evidently improved; road freightage corporations are characterized by "excessive, small, dispersive, weak", low competing ability and low anti-risk ability; low degree of information-oriented society and skill is showed in transportation management; there is a lack of relevant law in road freightage, which leads to a disorder complexion in road freightage market; etc.2. Study of road freightage corporations. Combined the character of "excessive, small, dispersive, weak" above with the history of road freightage in Japan, the thesis suggests to exert macroscopical adjustment and control by government, develop specialized transport corporations, set criterion to road freightage market, build up the competing ability of road freightage corporations, promote undertaking of commonweal and logistics. It is also advised to impose plus tax on non-business transport in order to break the present operation models of "small but all-sided" or "big arid all-sided".3. A systemic study of the relationship between national economy and road freightage. Grasping the effect and importance of road freightage in national economy through an analysis of their mutual relation, listing the numerical values of the freight intensity in our country and in developing countries according to the theory of transportation economics, and drawing a conclusion that freight intensity descends while the level of society and economy increases. Then, this chapter goes on studying the development of economy and road freightage after The Second World War in Japan, and...
