More than two decades ago, Hong Kong Literature made its debut in the research field of contemporary literature of mainland China, reminding people of other tremendous literature resources outside mainland China; the more than 20 years'developmental progress of Chinese Literature of the World in mainland China has been through the first phrase, namely, macroscopic descriptions like the contradictions of naming and discipline orientation etc, during which the diversity and complexness of Chinese Literature have this macroscopic description encounter the embarrassment of incompleteness, come into question on propositions in itself or even stuck in the mud of disapproval. In the last few years, the studies on the Chinese Literature tended to establish an ideal framework, i.e. A Community of Chinese Literature of the World in mainland China, proceeding from the component's perspective of research objects and its features shown and then back to the whole community, so as to objectively represent brilliant Chinese Literature of the World.Among the Chinese Literature which is considered as a spiritual cradle for Chinese all over the world, the South East Asian Literature in Chinese outside the mainland China is a branch with uniqueness, competitiveness and prospectiveness. China connects with Southeast Asia geographically, socially and culturally. The neo-literature of the Chinese Literature led by Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines, Brunei becomes informed profoundly and widely, and has developed into one important stream of the Chinese Literature.The thesis inherits the aesthetic ideal of investigation into history, meditation on aesthetics RenéEtiemble (a French scholar) proposed, and pins the research object on the diachronic of the South East Asian Literature in Chinese and its cultural attributes embedded in the texts; in light of the theoretical frameworks of Comparative Poetics, Cultural Criticism, Poetique de Lespace (the Poetics of Space), Geopoetics, and Imagologie of Chinese traditional aesthetics, the author with all-round-perspectives probes to the emergence, developmental process and cultural attributes of the South East Asian Literature in Chinese, employing the research method of Comparative Literature in Chinese School which hybridizes bilateral illumination, different-dimension comparison and cultural roots seeking; this thesis aims to dig out the commonness and disparity in the South East Asian Literature in Chinese, and as well as its unique value among the Chinese Literature of the World in mainland China.Despite the South East Asian Literature in Chinese is located in the second central zone of Cultural China, the Chinese Literature in each country has its own splendid charm due to geographical, cultural and racial differences. They all share more of kinship with Cultural China but with diversity like the blend of Wallace and Merlion, gentle temperament like Yellow Gown India and exotic tastes like the persistence of Da Bond Tree.Cross-cultural comparison might be one of the most effective methods as to form a panorama of the South East Asian Literature in Chinese with diachronic development and national-identity Chinese Literature. Cross-cultural comparison means to expound humanity regardless of different backgrounds of cross-nations and cross-cultures to reach a mutual agreement with expressions, understandings and explanations, thus making an achievement of shared spiritual homeland.This thesis is designed to construct the panorama of the South East Asian Literature in Chinese, and its evolution tree.The author, during the research, employs the principle of embryology to the study on the history of the South East Asia Literature, examining the emergence and evolution of the South East Asia Literature and analyzing major factors formed in Chinese community, such as ecological, geographical and social factors as well as China policies. Dating back to Han Dynasty—the origin of the Southeast Asia and going through Opium War, May Fourth Movement and State Independence of each country in Southeast Asia during the medium-term of the 20th century, until the 1980s china's economy prompts the revival of Cultural China of Southeast Asia; the author attempts to excavate the cultural genes or cultural incentives of the South East Asian Literature in Chinese—the roots, directions and developments of confrontations, communications, fusion and restructuring between Endogenous China and different countries in Southeast Asia.After identifying the root of South East Asian Literature in Chinese, this paper transfers its view to its various forms---the texts and ways of narration; through interpretation on classic texts, combing and supplement on narrative paradigm, this thesis identifies the homologous features of South East Asian Literature in Chinese and the variation and individual features after the combination of root feature and different cultures in the evolution.With the deepening research, it is found that the tree of South East Asian Literature in Chinese is deep in root, thick in leaves, grows with the time and flourishes with fruits, with many forms and phenomenon to be studied, such as: The new exploration in the archaeology of South East Asian Literature in Chinese; the various sketchbook of City Image in different countries; the relationship between the writing style of South East Asian Literature in Chinese and the characteristics of southeast Asians, etc.However, owing to the data deficiency resulting from the researcher's absence, researches on the regional culture generated from South East Asian Literature in Chinese are lack of liveliness, and in the process of demonstrating the cross-cultural researches in the schools of South East Asian Literature in Chinese, boundaries are somewhat fussy, and open in the end; this regret marks the end of the thesis and at the same time the beginning of a new research, and also highlights the value of this thesis. |
