A Study On The Development Of Contemporary Interior Design In China

Standing on view of social development, this paper described context of interior design systematically since China's Reform and Opening up. Past three decades, process of interior design showed a close correlation with it with economic development. According to historic events and their stages of social division in social development and evolution, correspondingly this paper divides past three decades into three typical stages. Despite of a close correlation, it was clear that interior design still showed incomplete synchronization with social development, or moderately advanced, or slightly lagged.In this paper development context of contemporary China's interior design was discussed with a detail during past three decades, typical cases in each era were interpreted deeply, interior design works in different regions at different times were compared and analyzed. So in discussion of paper I attempt to summarized general rule about development of contemporary China's interior design.This article and doctoral papers published by my fellow brothers, Ji-jun Chen, Bin Jiang et al., consisted of almost an integrated system. We tried to find out rules by our own efforts from development of contemporary Chinese interior design context, what's more was to provide experiential and theoretical supports for its future based on historical summary, and to offer novel ideas.
