Lexical study on Silk Texts of the Lao-tzu are the object of this thesis.It makes asystematic study to the vocabulary of ancient special book at deals with the languageof Silk Texts of the Lao-tzu.This Study is based on the diachronic and the synchronicanalysis methods. The author completely collects the vocabulary appearing in it andtotally describe them. It is the first time in this subject, author has selected 899 typicalmorphemes in Silk Texts of the Lao-tzu,including about 727 monosyllable and 170complex syllable words.The following is what the author of this thesis is going topresent:1)Though an approach of combining quantitative statistics and qualitative analysis,this thesis researches monosyllable of Silk Texts of the Lao-tzu, picks out somesamples of it and descrisbes it's features and list the monosyllable table.2)Making a systematic study on the complex syllable words in this book,stands atdifferent angle such as structure, category etc. sketches out the complex syllablewords in Silk Texts of the Lao-tzu.Comparing complex syllable words of ancientmonographs by diachronic and synchronic methods.3)Researching New Phoneme and New Sense of Silk Texts of the Lao-tzu., as well asgave them a explicit definition and criteria.4) Collecting careful and completed New Phoneme and New Sense in Silk Texts ofthe Lao-tzu, conocludes that within this book there are about 64New Phonemes.5)Comparing the variant of different edition of Lao-tzu,mainly concludes Silk Textsof the Lao-tzu,Bamboo Texts of the Lao-tzu and Wang-bi Texts of the Lao-tzu,findingthese variants' cause of formation and analyzing interrelated lexical and grammaticaldevelopments.6)Expounding the significance for monographs edition wihich is extracted by thestudy on the phonemes from Silk Texts of the Lao-tzu.Though the author has try hard,still,because of the limitation of time and her and knowledge level, there must be manyshortcomings,some conclusions just examplizing study,and some more difficut fieldsare set aside though unwilling. All of these flaws should be improved through furtherresearch and more efforts in the future.
