U.s. Broadway "integrated Musical"

The integrated musical is the most important form in the American musical history. It has gone through the three periods of embryo (Princess Musical) , rudiment (Show Boat) and maturity (Oklahoma!). Given the rise of integrated musical, together with its outstanding masters and plenty of classic shows, could the American musical have achieved the historic transformation from a purely entertainment show to an art with highly aesthetic value, winning the glory of the Broadway Musical during 1940s-1960s.Under the guidance of the conception of integration, the integrated musical integrates, on the basis of the book, all the constitutive elements into an organic integrity of the drama and theatre arts. Song and dance, closely integrated with the book, become the theatrical narrative elements. While performing different theatrical missions, they fully demonstrate the charms of not only their own but the integrated musical as a whole.
