| The main objects of this paper are bronze weapons—ge and ji, which are familiar during Xia Dynasty, Shang Dynasty and Zhou Dynasty of China. The whole paper is divided into three parts and nine chapters.The preface introduces the significance of choosing this topic and the entire circumstance of previous studies. It generalizes their academic achievement, points their shortcomings out, defines the name of every part of bronze ge and ji, the standard of typology, the study train of thinking and the rang of space-time framework in this paper and so on .Part one includes the chronology and regional styles of the bronze ge of pre-Qin Period. This part is divided into four Chapters.Chapter one is the period diversion and chronology of bronze ge of Central Plain region. Because of various archeological materials of bronze ge, at first they are treated as three long historical periods, which is Xia-Shang Dynasty, Western Zhou Dynasty, Eastern Zhou Dynasty. Then based on the typological analysis of bronze ge and referring to typical artifacts which are in the same context. The bronze ge can be further defined as eleven stages: the late period of Xia Dynasty, the early, middle, late three period of Shang Dynasty, the early, middle,late three periods of Western Zhou Dynasty, the early period of Spring and Autumn period, the middle period of Spring and Autumn period to early period of Warring States and the middle to late period of Warring States. Therefore, it can sort out the evolutional rule of the main weapon types. This chapter first time proposes that the earliest triangular short-blade ge probably originated from HuangPi area in HuBei province.
