When the Policy of Alliance-with the US to subdue Japan is mentioned, it is on most occasions regarded as an important part in the study of diplomacy in the Republic of China Period in the academia, and Gu Weijun is regarded as the first who put forward the Policy of Alliance-with the US to subdue Japan. As a matter of fact, centered on the issuesof the Northeast, the government of the late Qing Dynasty has commenced a relative intended Policy of Alliance-with the US to subdue Japan from 1905 to 1911. This is the new point of view presented and agued in this thesis.Through applying the research methodology of historical materialism, this thesis, for the first time, has an overall and systematic view of the whole process of a series of diplomatic activities with the intention to solve the Northeast crisis after the Japan-Russia War.
