Taking Li Qi as object of the research, the article reviews Li Qi and his poesies entirely.At present we have not found anyone who researches this problem systematicly and deeply inthe circles. Li Qi's story of life was not recorded in history, and there are many mistakes in theconclusion made by later researchers. In Chapter 1, the article, on the base of comparing,analyzing the present researching achievements, hackles the experience of Li Qi's life moreobjectively and particularly. The year for Li Qi's death and his experience of being official arenewly defined in the article. It confirms Li Qi's native place through investigating the changeof the two placenames "Yingyang" and "Songyang" in history, and at the same time it tries toconjecture Li Qi's extraction. About Li Qi's travel with friends and thought, thoughresearchers have related to, most of them only mentioned them. These two aspects arediscussed respectively in Chapter 2 and Chapter 3. Traveling with Zhang Ji and Qi Wuqianmostly reflect Li Qi's traces and thought. With the unequivocal feature of age, Li Qi mixedConfucianism, Buddhism, Taoism together. It analyzes and summarizes Li Qi's poesiessystematicly and deeply in Chapter 4. As the theme, Li Qi's frontier fortress poems reacheda highest height of frontier fortress poem thought in Tang Dynasty. Both his musical poemsand character line drawing poems took on a great significance of initiating. Every piece of hisseven-word poems were in rhythm in the course of inditing at that same time. The fluent andmellow style of his poems were not only adopted by poets who wrote seven-word poems inMiddle Tang Dynasty, but also regarded as guide line by scholars in the period of Jiajing andLongqing in Ming Dynasty. Li Qi's poesies, with the characteristic of astonishing change andconnection, clear affection and way of thought, occurring profound theory, were unique in hisstyle in flourishing Tang Dynasty. The paper particularly hackles the order of edition changeof Li Qi's poetry anthology in Chapter 5. No one collected Li Qi's poesies into a volume inTang Dynasty. The old wood-block editions of Li Qi's poesies in Song and Yuan Dynastyhave disappeared. His poetry anthology was perfected in Ming and Qing Dynasty by someeditors through compiling, cutting block and printing. 124 pieces of Li Qi's poesies werepreserved in Poems of All Tang Dynasty.
