| This paper deals with the clan emblem in bronze inscription of Shang and Zhou Dynasty. So-called clan emblem is to the bronze inscription which was regarded as a family symbol. The clan emblem mainly exists in the later Shang Dynasty to the early Zhou dynasty. The whole passage includes seven parts. In the introduction, it concerns the concept relate to the clan emblem, and the main research target. It looks back into the brief history of research on the clan emblem in bronze inscription. It sums up the development, change, and established achievements existing in the academic circle on the research methods of the clan emblem; meanwhile, it also points out the shortcomings. It classifies the clan emblem into the single clan emblem and the composite clan emblem. It expounds the research methods that used in this paper. Chapter One: the nature and characteristic of the clan emblem. We discuss the nature of the clan emblem from two respects mainly: First, the meanings of the clan emblem. We think the clan emblem represent the name of a family, it is equivalent to the "Shi"of Zhou Dynasty. Second, whether the clan emblem is characters. We think the clan emblem is a kind of characters from its literary style and characteristic, etc. The more important thing is many clan emblem can be found in the oracle bone inscriptions. About the characteristic of the clan emblem, we also discuss it from two respects mainly. First, the literary style and characteristic of the clan emblem; Second, the clan emblem is often united with the characters which symbolize a kind of position. Just as "ya","ce", "tian", "gu", etc. Chapter Two: the research on the single clan emblem. In this chapter we discuss nine single clan emblems. They are: ①Ju②Ran③Ge④Bing⑤Yachou⑥Shi⑦Xi⑧Feng⑨Wuzhong. As to every research of this single clan, we mainly from ⑴the unscrambling of the clan emblem, ⑵the situation about excavation, ⑶the distribution and deed of the clan emblem. We think, some branch of "ju"distribute in Changqing county and Fei County Shandong province in the later Shang Dynasty; "bing"distributes mainly in lingshi county Shanxi province in the later Shang Dynasty; "yachou"distributes in Qingzhou country Shandong province in the later Shang Dynasty, it may be the family name of "Bogu"; "shi"is the family "Xue", it distributes in Tengzhou country Shandong province in the later Shang Dynasty and the early ZhouDynasty; the graveyard found in QianZhangDa Tengzhou should be the... |
