Jean Piaget, Switzerland child psychologist and the founder of Piagetian school, studied the children deception along with his research of children moral judgment, and became the forerunner of studying the children deception. It was on the 1980's that the research of theory of mind became the third tide of the study of the children mental knowledge development and the researchers began to study the children deception from view of theory of mind. From view of theory of mind, deception is a behavior intended to foster the other a false belief so that the other is induced into error.Based on the previous researches, this research explores the development of Chinese preschooler deception, with combining theory and demonstration, tries to find the general trend on the development of Chinese preschooler deception, the reason about the development of children deception, and the relation between the development of deception and theory of mind. This article is composed of 5 parts:The first part is exordium. Summarizing the researches of child's theory of mind and the status quo of child's deception research, estimating and analyzing the deficiency in the research of children deception. Based on it, putting forward the hypothesis of this research and pointing out the meaning of theory and the meaning of practice.The second part is the theory research on children deception. The main contents are: One, the definition of deception. Two, the relation among children deception, theory of mind, and false-belief. It includes the definition of theory of mind, the relation between false belief and theory of mind, the relation between deception and theory of mind. Three, the theoretical hypothesis of children deception. There are three theoretical hypothesis: lack-of-imagination view, early-onset view, and late-onset view. Four, the main research programs of children deception. Five, the research focus of children deception. They focus on the onset of children deception, the reason of the development of children deception, the relation between deception and theory of mind, the research programs of children deception.The third part is the demonstrable research of children deception. It is composed of 4 studies. Preliminary study: developmental research on preschooler's theory of mind and deception. The result is: (1) The performance of preschoolers are disaccord in the different false-belief tasks, but there is the general developmental trend on preschooler theory of mind——3-year-olds can not own the ability of theory of mind, the important developmental period of theory of mind is age 4~6. (2) 3-year-olds can not own the ability of deception of concealing intention, 4-year-olds begin to own this ability. (3) 3-year-olds can deny having touching the toy, but it is not until age 6 that children could begin to own the competence of the feigning ignorance. (4) There is the significant correlation between theory of mind and concealing intention, but there is not the significant correlation between theory of mind and denial of touching or feigning ignorance. Study one: developmental research on preschooler's deceptive strategy. Its purpose is to study on the spontaneity application of the children's deceptive strategy with the deceptive task "find coin". The result is: (1) There is a trend of decreasing on the using the "destroying track" deceptive strategy and the "lying" deceptive strategy, but a trend of enhancing on the combining deceptive strategies mentioned along with the age increasing; children can not use the "falsely nominating tracks" deceptive strategy until age 4. (2) Except for 5- and 6-year-olds, there is significant difference between ages on the deceptive strategies of other age of children. (3) There is significant correlation between theory of mind and deceptive strategy on 3~6-year-olds; there is not significant correlation between theory of mind and deceptive strategy on4-and 5-year-olds.
