Since 1978, Premack & Woodruff firstly used the term of 'theory of mind', theory of mind has became one of the most active field in psychological studies around the world. Along with the use of neuroimaging technology, the research of theory of mind has become an interdisciplinary center for developmental, cognitive, social, clinical, neural and comparative psychology. By now, there are few of ERP studies of theory of mind in adults in China.Subjects: 23 college and graduate students for pay. Using the picture false belief task, the experiment takes a 2 (experiment condition: belief reasoning vs reality reasoning) ×3 (caudality) ×3 (laterality) repeated measurement event-related potentials research. The dependent vriable is the average wave amplitude elicited by of the two experiment conditions. The result of the experiment indicates that from the 300ms after the simulation appears, the difference the two experiment conditions' ERP is going on. In 600-900ms windows the difference is almost significant. The ERP difference of the two conditions are different at brain area.
