GanLuZiShu is a works on normal characters' study written by Yanyuansun in the Tang Dynasty. This book collected groups of characters of different forms, which have the same recording function and divide them into three kinds according to the cases where these characters are used by different standardizes. In this book they are called characters' normal forms, popular forms and folk forms, followed by the confusing characters at that time and can be analyzed. This established the basic frame of the study of normal Chinese characters over thousands years.It can not only present basic feature of characters used by the mass in the beginning of Tang dynasty, but also offered the reliable printed characters for the research of Chinese characters' development history and the large-scale dictionary. Especially the study of normal characters can advocate the arrangement and standardization work of present Chinese character. So GanLuZiShu pfay a role in the development history in Chinese characters' study and the normal characters' study especially.In the past, Chinese characters' study has not been paid enough attention, and few specific researchers and little research achievement has been made. Some scholars who lack the historical development view have made mistakes to evaluate Yanyuansun's methods of dealing with the Chinese characters. This article is based on the research work achieved in the past and makes some progress on the study of GanLuZiShu more systematically, avoiding of the shortcomings in the study in the past.The focal point is to utilize stone inscriptions from the Han Dynasty to the beginning of the Tang Dynasty, confirm the folk forms, popular forms and the confusing characters of GanLuZiShu all-sidedly. The purport is to offering the abundant and believable materials to further the study of GanLuZiShu.This article includes five chapters.Chapter I is GanLuZiShu and the survey.The nature contents of GanLuZiShu and its important position on the history of Standard Chinese characters are first demonstrated. Then the existing achievements in research are introduced briefly. The questions of the existence are pointed out as well. At last the main content, the research approach and anticipated purposes are introduced.Chapter II is the study of the folk forms in GanLuZiShu. This chapter is discussed specially on the folk forms in GanLuZiShu. The whole chapter includes eight sections. Section one discusses the nature of the folk forms in GanLuZiShu. Section two makes a statistics on the quantity of the folk forms and seek for the principles of collecting the folk forms of GanLuZiShu .Section three compares the shapes of the folk forms and normal forms and reveals the relationship between the folk forms and normal forms. Section four to section seven, 337 the folk forms are illustrated one by one by utilizing the materials of stone inscriptions from the Han Dynasty to the Tang Dynasty. The relevant problems are explained in forms of "comments". The last section is combined by the relevant materials and heritage of GanLuZiShu in later ages.Chapter III is the study of the popular forms in GanLuZiShu. This chapter isdiscussed specially on the popular forms in GanLuZiShu. The chapter uses the same research method of chapter two, includes eight sections too. The chapter discuses the nature of the popular forms in GanLuZiShu in order. Makes a statistics on the popular forms and gives an explanation on the principles of collecting of the popular forms in GanLuZiShu. This section also compares and reveals the relationship among the popular forms .normal forms and folk forms. 359 popular forms are illustrated one by one and the heritage of the popular forms in GanLuZiShu in later ages is also given.Chapter IV is the study of normal forms in GanLuZiShu. This chapter mainly discusses three questions. The first is the question of nature of the normal forms.
