Study On Li Demao's Literature And The Comparison With Chinese Literature

Li Dcmao is a philosophical realist with real ability and learning of moral practice, of textual criticism, and etc. As developing what is useful and discarding what is not in Confucian classics, he makes every effort to establish a new moral standard which fits the needs of realistic living standard of Korean nationality and which expresses the humanistic thoughts and feelings and promotes the development of civilization. The harmony of the morality and the literary spirit is the main characteristic of realistic thoughts in literature. In another word, he believes that literature is the imaginative representation of an author's spiritual world, which means one's moral quality decides the quality of his poems. Therefore, he adapts the critical approach with the attitude of understanding the writers and their times when he comments on their works. In his own poems he sincerely pursues a personality beauty and concerns about his nation as well as works on establishing a moral society with the harmony of human relationship.Li Demao also sticks to the mutual and realistic thoughts, the innocence of writers' pursuing truth as well as the reality of the works. He insists that poems should not only be the literature of emotion and the reality of scenery description, but also depict the life and culture of Korean nationality by using the ethnic poetic language, style and theme. Meanwhile, he composed a large number of poems by creative use of verse refinement, reduplication, antithesis, structure arrangement and the creation of dual images. He absorbs objectively and dialectically the strong points of the other schools.Li Demao is one of the cutting figures in "Literary School of Chinese Thoughts". His distinctive poetic genre and style play an active role in disseminating the Korean provincial poems and establishing a bridge between Korean and Chinese literary world.
