Research On Methodology Of Russian Terminology Translation Into Chinese

The present dissertation is devoted to the methodology of Russian terminologytranslation into Chinese. According to terminology translation standard and operationmeans in the translation process, we try constructing a translation methodologicalsystem. That system is composed of three translation strategies: literal translation, freetranslation and literal-semantic transliteration, everyone embodies many methods andskills. They belong to different level separately and have relevancy with others in theirlevel. This is the systematicness of constructed system."Sublimity", one of the Chinese philosophical categories, agrees with the natureof terminology translation, the nature of system is to reach "Sublimity". Thecharacteristic of term make its form and contents separated with each other, literaltranslation strategy is based on it. Language possesses compatibility and literaltranslated term can be absorbed, so literal translation is feasible. Free translationincludes word-for-word translation, amplification, omission, substitution, shift ofperspective, division and combination, it can make oriented term be in accordance withmotivation and other terminological characteristics. The direct reason of using freetranslation is differences in language structure and the underlying reason is thecognitive differences on the same concept and corresponding expression betweennationalities. The transformation of thinking unit and pattern is the basis of thinkingstudy of free translation. Term has the nature of growth, the interpretation process isthe base of usage of translation strategies. Literal-semantic translation can transferform and express contents, so the oriented terms are easy to be standardized. It also canreach extremely similarity by the information compensation on the basis ofinformation regeneration and reproduction.Our research can establish the basis of terminology translation theory.
