The Image World Of Kongfu

Under the current social circumstances, the sense of Kongfu has already surpassed its definition as capability and accepted through common practice as a synonym for Chinese Kongfu and Wuxia. Kongfu is also internationally a general term for Chinese Wuxia. And in The Modern Chinese Dictionary, "scene" refers to the living conditions constituted by certain people on certain occasions. Therefore, "scene" conveys the sense of responsibility of narration.A piece of work of art is a subjective creation consisted of narrative literature, opera and film, which contains the heroes, circumstances and Kongfu. These three elements are appreciated as three aesthetical images which are united in Kongfu scenes. As a result, the Kongfu image is a combination of emotions and scenes.The appearance of Kongfu scenes in the narratives can be traced back to mythology and historical literature and plays a major part in Tang Legend and then promotes to a categorized novel making a great effort in describing the Kongfu scenes. In the 1980s, the popularity of Wuxia novels becomes an important cultural phenomenon in China. The Kongfu scene is more categorized, artistic and philosophic. Its description makes Wuxia novels more enjoyable, recreational and works as a major push in conflicts of plot development. In the phase of value, the Kongfu scenes take the responsibility of value judgment and moral standards, which realize the external form of Confucius, Buddhism and Taoism, and additionally the convey of Kongfu image. Moreover, in the phase of acceptance, the Kongfu scene caters to the public cultural psychology and embodies the simple morality and value of public aesthetics.The combination of Kongfu scenes and opera performances makes up the Wuxia opera in Chinese opera, which turns out to be more symbolized and abstract because of its two characteristics: literary narration and stage performance in Kongfu scenes. The Konogfu image in Wuxia opera pays closer attention to the sense of ex-Xiang and overtones implicated by "Xiang". The creation of Kongfu image is more formulized to express the subjective emotion and moral standards of the creator. The Kongfu scenes in Wuxia opera take more responsibility of the character moulding and emotion expressing. Its acceptance is based on the special psychology of the spectators. They do not emphasize what to perform but how, that is, the form is far more important than content. Meanwhile, the Kongfu image in Wuxia opera affiliates the moral judgments of the creators more directly, which makes the Kongfu scenes more obvious to observe the good or the bad standards and value system.The film is a foreign art form equipped with technology. To make it Chinese is an important assignment of film development in China. It is a successful model when it is related to Wuxia. The Chinese Wuxia film, a kind of product of foreign technology and the traditional culture, expresses the national essence, values and aesthetics. Borrowed the stage performance of Wuxia opera and using Wuxia system from Wuxia novels, it constitutes a characterized expression system of camera language in Wuxia film. Wuxia film takes the specific recording as a tool to reflect the image system of Kongfu scenes as well as to make no change of the meaning conveyance, thus have a better display of the sense of ex-Xiang. The Wuxia film takes the advantage of audio-visual effects to represent characters, circumstances and Kongfu. Such recordings make the elements of Kongfu scenes, that is, where, how and why more spontaneous.This present dissertation is established on the study of Wuxia novels, Wuxia operas and Wuxia films, discusses the creation of Kongfu image via Kongfu scenes and the development of Kongfu scenes in Wuxia novels, Wuxia operas and Wuxia films, moreover the inheritance of Chinese classical aesthetics, analyses the reason why Wuxia novels, Wuxia operas and Wuxia films are so popular in public. In addition, this dissertation devotes to discovering the internal aesthetics and morals, exploring the image world of Chinese classical aesthetics in Kongfu novels.
