Background:The ture vibratory behavior of the vocal folds could be captured via high-speed videoendoscopy(HSV), which provides more accurate objective methods for further insights into the biomechanics of laryngeal sound production. Recently there is rapid progress in technology and methodology related HSV. We attempt to explore the possible method for clinical pratices by HSV.Method:Totally 148 outpatients were collected during Jan and Dec in 2008. They were divided to six groups according to the illness except one group was normal, Every one was examined via HSV, then be stored as AVI files. We use KIPS to analyze each file to acquire volume of frequence and amplitude of the four reference points.Result:The average volume of frequence among each group was similar and had no significant statistical difference when The average amplitude in four groups (including paresis, incomplete glottal closure, keratosis, vocal nodules) had significant statistical difference.Conclusion:High-speed videoendoscopy(HSV) will become an objective quantification tool and enable assessment of voice disorders leadind to refinements in the diagnosis and management of vocal fold pathology. Background:GAW Analysis truly represents intrcycle behavior of vocal fold vibrations, it was regarded as a more accurate method to quantitatively assess the characteristics of mucosa wave, we aim to use the volume change of glottal area before and after the surgery to evaluate the efficacy.Method:We choose 23 male patients with lateral vocal polyp and 8 female patients with vocal nodules, collect tha volume of maximal and minimal glottal area within one vibrating cycle of every patient for two times (pre and postsurgery), and compare them.Result:The average maximal volume of two groups and the declined volume between both groups were greater postsurgery. Conclusion:It assumes that the quantitative assessment with GAW analysis is valuabe in clinical practices.
