Abdominal diagnosis is paid attention to most and played an important role in Japanese Kanpo medicine. Abdominal diagnosis methods are founded upon ShanghanLun and JinKuiYaoLue, the contents of which are more idiographic and abundant. A doctor can estimate the asthenia and asthenia, cold and heat of a disease, through observing the color, luster, fat, soft-hard, tenderness of the patient's abdomen, and so on. Therefore, abdominal diagnosis is an important supplement to the diagnostics of traditional Chinese medicine, and makes the diagnosis in clinical practice more exact and perspicuous. The first part of the dissertation is about the history of the shaping of abdominal diagnosis. The traditional Chinese medicine came to Japan in the fifth century, and became localization in the sixteenth century. In the seventeenth century, some elitist doctors regarded Zhang Zhongjing as medical sage and applied themselves to verb confusion local medicine. They developed the abdominal diagnosis according to ShanghanZabingLun and formed the faction with integrated and systemic abdominal diagnosis subject, also called Shanghan faction abdominal diagnosis. Although the figuration of Shanghan faction abdominal diagnosis was posterior to Neijing faction abdominal diagnosis, numerous and more famous elitist doctors, for example Konzan Goto, Shuan Kagawa, Toudou Yoshimasu, Kinzan Murai, Chokei Seoka made Shanghan faction abdominal diagnoses develop faster. At last, Bunrei Inaba and Yoshitora Wakuda, who are master and apprentice, finished two famous books Fukushoukiran and Fukushoukiranyoku, which was the sign of the maturation of Shanghan faction abdominal diagnosis. Afterward, Kanpo medicine began to trend to weakness, but in recent modern times, Kanpo medicine revived and some famous doctors inherited Shanghan faction abdominal diagnosis. The second part of the dissertation introduces the idiographic methods, contents and manipulation of abdominal diagnosis. The methods and manipulation of Shanghan faction abdominal diagnosis are in ancient times and inherited by Kanpo doctors. In modern times, some Kanpo doctors began to advocate some new methods based on some diagnosis and treatment technique introduced from western medicine. The old methods and manipulation and some new methods and technique form integrated abdominal diagnosis system. Furthermore, to summarize the main points of abdominal diagnosis, discuss the particular conception of abdominal diagnosis is the other important contents of this part. The third part of the dissertation is about the particular methods of abdominal diagnosis in Fukushoukiran and Fukushoukiranyoku, which referred to the herb drugs and prescriptions in JinKuiYaoLue written by Zhang Zhongjing. Many doctors in modern times have summarized some new methods that doctors in ancient times hadn't used before. Furthermore, some modern Kanpo doctors studied channel tropism of some herb drugs and prescriptions according to the Kanpo medical theories that have some differences with the channel tropism in Shanghan Zabing Lun. These doctors summarized the channel tropism of all the Kanpo prescriptions for the first time. The fourth part of the dissertation is to explain the methods of abdominal diagnosis particularly with schematics according to Yoshimatsu Fukushin Kuketsu and Fukushoukou. Some conceptions such as differentiating palpitation, differentiating blood stasis etc were put forward in ancient times, but not systemic. Kanpo doctors in recent modern times combined the ancient abdominal diagnosis methods with modern medical instruments, and added some new ways to the system based on inheriting ancient experiences. This part is also to state some differences about the ancient methods and modern methods about abdominal diagnosis. The fifth part of the dissertation is to elucidate the disadvantages of abdominal diagnosis. Doctors in ancient times paid much attention to clinical practice and prescriptions corresponding to syndromes. The explanations for abdominal diagnosis are very particular and detailed. Progress of disease in six meridians is the most important frame in ShanghanZabingLun. The Kanpo doctors hadn't stated the relationship between the abdominal diagnosis and progress of disease in six meridians, which this part is to elucidate for the first time and testified the veracity of the Kanpo abdominal diagnosis. Through comparing the herb drugs in ShanghanLun and JinKuiYaoLue, the veracity of the herb drugs in JinKuiYaoLue is proved, which is regarded to be applied in clinical practice more widely. In conclusion, abdominal diagnosis in Kanpo medicine is lack of medical theories and paid more attention to clinical practice and actual efforts. The theories of Kanpo medicine are based on ShanghanLun and JinKuiYaoLue. Through studying the abdominal diagnosis in Kanpo medicine, we can recognize the relationship between the prescriptions in ShanghanZabingLun and abdominal symptoms, and establish the relationship between the change of the prescriptions and abdominal symptoms. It can provide some important reference and basis to syndrome differentiation and treatment by studying particular abdominal diagnosis and summarizing its characteristics, which can guide the clinical practice.
