After more than 30 years of reform and openness, China economy enters a new stage, and bilateral trading and economic relations between China and the United States have been greatly strengthened. This trading partnership is increasingly significant. This impressive trade growth between the two countries has been accompanied by a growing trade imbalance that, as it has expanded, has increased friction between the two partners. Thus a broader perspective is needed to explore the issue of imbalance between Sino-US in order to relieve the international pressure which China faced.However, the majority of studies at home and abroad have tried to explain the Sino-US trade imbalance, but no effective way has been reached. This is because there is great discrepancies in bilateral trade data, which leads todiscrepancies with which both sides analyze and understand the issue of Sino-US bilateral trade balance.. This dissertation is based on the perspective of trade statistics to understand the issue of Sino-US trade imbalanc, try to explain the differences between bilateral trade data, and confirm there is difference in the standard methods for data compilation between two countries. Therefore from the view of trade statistics there is of great significance to analyze the bilateral trade between China and the US, which would contribute making consensus for the two countries.In this dissertation, based on a comprehensive multi-disciplinary research methods and theoretical knowledge are used, and the majority of empirical studies from home and abroad, Sino--US trade imbalance has been conducted.This dissertation is divided into six major chapters as following:The first chapter is base of the dissertation, introduces the research background and significance, and secondly, summs up the past relavant studies, lastly presents the structure of this dissertation and introduces the innovations and methods.The second chapter view the theory. Section 1 is for the the balance of payments theory, mainly about the trade imbalance theory. Section 2 a brief review of the trade imbalance theory, with the focus on the balance of trade statistics system, as well as issues related to Sino-US trade disputes to sort out the existing research literature.The third chapter to the fifth chapter is a core part of the full dissertation.From the perspective of the Rules of Origin, the trade data discrepancies in Sino-US trade imbalance is analyzed. Firstly, the main content of rules of origin were reviewed, and rules of origin were analysis and comment. an example of processing trade, rules of origin impact on Sino-US trade statistics to study, and further analysis of the statistical system of the United States on the ownership experience.Chapter IV Research on Sino-US trade statistics differences from trade pricing, trade and statistical principles in the Sino-US trade in services trade statistics in order to explores causes of the statistics difference, and on the ownership of the bilateral trade balance was re-estimated on which the results are made. results are as follows:1、It is natural that the differences of Sino-US import and export price-recording methods lead to discrepancies of bilateral trade.2、Second, re-exports through Hong Kong and the value-added of bilateral trade statistics contributed to difference in the bilateral trade statistics.. Ruled out re-exports and re-export value-added impact, differences in bilateral trade statistics significantly reduced.Third, the analysis of foreign-funded enterprises can be seen foreign direct investment in China will cause Chinese exports to the United States and U.S. goods trade surplus increased. The results show that the substance of the issue of Sino-US trade balance is not just China-US trade issues, and has become a foreign direct investment enterprises in China trade deficit caused by the transfer issue.。Chapter five:Sino-US trade imbalance on the trade impact is studied. First Sino-US trade imbalance on the U.S. economy, Sino-US bilateral economic and trade relations to study the specific effects; and empirical analysis of the relationship between trade balance and economic growth, and further explore whether the U.S. trade deficit with China is causing the increase of the total U.S. foreign trade imbalance. Chapter VI:this study concludes by combing, that should be a correct view of Sino-US trade imbalance, and the Sino-US trade imbalance adjustment strategies and countermeasures research. Made a number of response strategy in Sino-US trade imbalance.
