Research On The Coordinated Development Of Industrial Structure Evolution And Urbanization In China

The evolution of industrial structure and urbanization are the most important structural changes of modern economic development and they influence each other. It is generally believed that the evolution of industrial structure is the driving force of urbanization and urbanization has an important impact on industrial structure evolution. The positive interaction and coordinated development of industrial structure evolution and urbanization is conducive to the rational allocation of resources and the sustained and healthy economic development. Their uncoordinated relationship will cause serious difficulties and problems to economic development. Since the reform and opening-up, industrial structure has got a large degree of optimization and upgrading and urbanization has made rapid development in China. Their coordination degree has increased significantly. However, there are still a number of factors and issues affecting the coordinated development of industrial structure evolution and urbanization in our country. These problems are not conducive to sustainable economic development. Exploring the implementation mechanisms and path to the coordinated development of industrial structure and urbanization, evaluating the coordination degree of their interaction, realizing and correcting the deviation in their development is of great significance.On the basis of the theories of industrial structure and urbanization this research defines a comprehensive connotation of the coordinated development of industrial structure and urbanization and formed the main frame of the essay. From the concept of "positive interaction" promoting "coordinated development",the paper summarizes the mechanism of interaction theoretically, analyzes the development course and current situation of China’s industrial structure and urbanization, evaluates their whole situation, calculates their relevance and coordination degree and analyzes the problems that influence their coordination. On the basis of the entire study, the essay gives proposals to promote the coordinated development of China’s industrial structure and urbanization.Based on previous studies, this paper tries to explore in the following aspects. First, based on economic theory and systems theory, the essay summarizes four—part connotation of the coordinated development of industrial structure and urbanization: the basic condition is that they interact benignly under certain conditions; the necessary prerequisite is their orderly development; the specific performance is properly match in the speed and level of their development; implementation process is "coordination" and "disorder" adjusted for changes in dynamics. On this basis, the paper builds a comprehensive framework. Second, on the basis of the theory of industrial structure and urbanization, the essay forms the interaction mechanisms of industrial structure and urbanization. Different from some studies don’t strictly distinguish between "interaction" and "positive interaction", the paper analyzes the possibility and conditions of the interaction mechanisms converting from "interactive" to "positive interaction" and "vicious interaction". Third, in the evaluation of the coordination degree of industrial structure and urbanization, this paper establishes a more comprehensive index system of industrial structure and urbanization, uses “entropy’ law and “coupling coordination degree” model to calculate and analyze the country and provinces’ coordination degree from vertical and horizontal angles. The research indicates the coordination degree of our country’s industrial structure steadily improved and provincial coordination degree have obvious regional differences. The result also displays the deviation of industrial structure levels above urbanization’s. Fourth, for the difficulty in the interaction empirical research, the essay uses PLS model(Partial Least Squares Regression) to study the coordinated development of industrial structure and urbanization, quantitatively analyzes the interactive effect of industry structure and urbanization and obtains several outstanding issues affecting the coordinated development of industrial structure and urbanization.
