About 80% of the information received from the external world comes through their vision, so human beings are constantly pursuing improvement in the display technology throughout the process of changing the world.In the past several thousand years, human beings’ display technology has always been planar. With the improvement in the software and hardware technology in recent years,3D display technology has been developed rapidly and commercial applications in 3D movies and 3D advertisement display are realized.The era of universal access to 3D display technology is coming.3D display technology has been rapidly developed, especially that three-dimensional movie has become a necessary technology for commercialized blockbusters. However,3D display technology still has multiple issues which are quite worthy to be deeply studied. For instance, the parameter of the viewing device mismatches its content, video swiftly convers from 2D into 3D, the three-dimensional display of multi-viewpoint naked eye has small crosstalks in the visual area, and the three-dimensional display of two-viewpoint naked eye has limited viewing scope and etc..3D display technology with multiple schemes is not mature enough for a large-scale application. The content generation, 3D display schemes and the key performance of three-dimensional display are investigated, inculding depth effect, viewing range, enhancing the cubist vision and eliminating the crosstalk. The main content and innovative achievements are as following:(1) Firstly, on the basis of the aim of converting 2D video into 3D, the key process is investigated. According to the process and automatic algorithm, software of converting 2D video into 3D is designed.2D+and grayscale map replacement is used in the core algorithm of converting 2D into 3D. A sparse replacement algorithm to improve the efficiency is first proposed, which addresses the problem that traditional model rendering replacement consumed too many resources, and then a smoothness replacement algorithm to ensure scarcity is proposed in order to guarantee the smooth effect, which satisfies two requirements on the efficiency and quality of 2D+ parallax images replacement anaglyph simultaneously.In order to solve the current problem of time-consuming depth given when converting 2D video into 3D, a relevant model is constructed based on the joint features of 2D original maps and the grey-scale maps to automatically create the depth maps. For the problem of getting other frames of depth map with already-known frames of the depth map, the method suitable to the demand characteristics of converting 2D into 3D is proposed. The technology of unknown depth is automatically achieved through feature points and the known depth, which addresses the automation problem of the depth given in converting 2D video into 3D.In order to solve the problem that automatically supplementing background cannot be done in the previous conversion from 2D video into 3dD, a graph complementary technology is presented, which directionally flattens the depth map.Different depth maps are used for the parallax images of the left eye and the right eye, and reversely overlap the smooth areas of the two depth maps, which will eliminate the blocking effect and achieve a fully automatic background complementary graph in converting 2D into 3D. A kind of model that separates transition depth and shadowing judgment depth is given, which solves the problem of automatic complementary graph and adhesion when converting 2D naked eye multi-view three-dimensional video into 3D.(2) The general mechanism of naked eye three-dimensional displaying technology is analyzed, emphasizing on the multi-view naked eye three-dimensional displaying technology with lenticular lenses. The inevitable jumping problem is derived from its basic mechanism, and the problem cannot be resolved by improving the components and the way of design.Therefore, a technology making use of periodic parallax images to eliminate saltus steps is specially presented, which could realize the thorough elimination of saltus steps under the effects of simple plane three-dimensional hierarchy.A vertical submersion method is further introduced for the requirement of arbitrary depth effect performance to satisfy the technology for parallax images after giving the basic map of periodic cycle and the depth map, eliminating the map distortion, and increasing the non-hopping viewing angle and viewing distance to the maximum range of the optical visual stereo display device. Finally, thekind of non-hopping and multi-view display technique is verified in glasses-free 3D display of 50 inches and 26 inches raster with 28 viewpoints.(3)The advantage and disadvantage of naked eye three-dimensional display technology combining the raster projector and the scattering film are analyzed. Aiming at the problem that current the front projection display technology lacks the stereoscopic effect, the relationship between the level of the three-dimensional effect and the parameters of the device is analyzed. The three-dimensional display technology of front projection with the enhanced three-dimensional effect is presented. The projection principle of the three-dimensional display of naked eyes is presented, and the necessity of the combination between eye tracking and the three-dimensional display of naked eyes is discussed. Moreover, three kinds of multi-people eye tracking technologies of the front projection display are given, including front projection way of multi-projector with adjustable position, rear projection way of large size with multi-point light source and front projection way of large size with multi-point light source.(4) The three-dimensional display mechanism of parallax is investigated. Aiming at the inconsistencies between the watching parameters during the viewing of three-dimensional display and the initial design, the generation of a pair of parallax images and a sequence of parallax images of naked eyes is presented. The formula concerning the influence of changes of watching conditions on the final three-dimensional effect is proposed.A technology which only corrects the parallax images is given, which match the actual viewing parameters to solve the problems of inappropriate stereo effect during the change of watching conditions after the parallax images were generated in advance in the past. The vertical view angle in the multi-perspective naked eye three-dimensional displaying technology cannot be 90 degrees. A technology which only handles the already generated parallax images is proposed to solve deformation problems of three-dimensional effect in different viewing angles.For those vertical viewing angles which are not suitable to be 90 degrees, it can guarantee the normal effect of three-dimensional display as well. When the display contents match with the dip angles, such as the modes of ground surface and wall space whose display contents are also the aground objects, the shocking effect of virtual reality can be achieved.
