Research On Media And Resolving Demolition Risks In China

Since the beginning of the new millennium, with the transformation of China’s social and economic development, social conflicts continue strong, risk society further deepens. In the west, there are three different Research directions about the risk and risk society:the direction of cultural research, realism research and institutionalism research. This article adopts the institutionalism research direction, mainly sorting from the first proposed the concept of risk society Beck and Giddens’s view, that the risk society is the concept of time features and social features. In the development of society, the early reflections of modernity to solve the various risks existing in the traditional society, at the same time, along with social progress and generates new risks, these risks piles up and form various characteristics of the late modernity.After 2010, with the rapid spread and development of the micro-blog and Wechat, traditional media’s opinion control forceis declines, when new media’s social influence and communication power further strengthens. And the medium risk society is coming, where the risks are not only rooted in social events, but also created by the communication process. The media played an important role, which is the traditional risk communication channels, as well as the source of rumors risk. It also can be settled to clear up doubts, eliminate the uncertainty, and remove the risk as public opinion tool.Under this background, this paper intends to combine the cases of Social risk of housing demolition to analyze the situation of our medium risk society problems. As house is the biggest property of ordinary Chinese people, social risk of housing demolition is always the focus of public opinion. In the study of this risk process, this paper adopted the questionnaire survey method to understand the opinion of the housing demolition work staff, residents and social public about housing demolition risk. And took the text analysis to see the risk communication process and the influence of traditional media and new media’s presentation. And adopted the case study method to review a resident’s 8 years’visit to the Government to charactize the current situation and problems of government’s practice to deal with the social risk of housing demolition, and new trend of this risk with the development of new media. After the comparison, this paper would point out the role and effect of both traditional media and new media according to the different progress of housing demolition risk development.Through the above research and analysis, draw the research framework of "government-media -public" relationship of housing demolition risk, espially the three couple’s relationship, to finger out the media’s value and role of different progress of the risk of housing demolition. As the traditional media should take the "deep, long, wide" strategy to beat new media’s "short, flat, fast", to win the influence war and resolve the risk society in China. As the new media should give full play to the advantages of so many grassrootful users, to monitor and cognitive the risk and guide the public opinion, as well as to strengthen the standardization to contribute to the resolvation of risk society.
