Although there has been a great abundance of research finding in literary thoughts of Wuzhong area concerning the period of Hongzhi year through Jiajing in Ming Dynasty discussions based upon the research are mainly focused on the lifetime experience and thoughts of "The four talent artists in Wu zhong district" plus the analysis in works composition together with interpretation of its cultural and thought implications. Normally the research in poetry study is the concentration as well. The dissertation reckons that further research topics are there to be explored in this field. The implications of study on literary thoughts of Wuzhong area in the period of Hongzhi and Jiajing Era is beyond the mere interpretation of the topics aforementioned. It should be further expanded to scholarly mood embedded in the articles and pursuit of literary aesthetic standard. More importantly, a study into some scholars of prominence that are yet to be main subject should be the fundamental significance. The objective of the dissertation lies in this.This dissertation adopts an approach of macro-analysis and micro-probe. Six chapters will unfold to further research on literary thoughts of Wuzhong area in the period of Hongzhi through Jiajing.The first chapter will interpret the basis and incentive for the forming of literary thoughts of Wuzhong area in this time period. The second chapter takes an analysis of Wuzhong scholars’u nderstanding and thinking toward eight-part essay.In this chapter there are two segments.The first one tries to depict the mood of Wuzhong scholars in the shadow of eight-part essay uncovering the cause of their reflections on Exaggerating Style of Study and lost of scholar-bureaucrats culture. The other segment is entitled with "eight-part essay and classical prose". It on one hand serves as a breakthrough for "expound ideas in writing and classical prose", indicating deeper the cause of Wuzhong scholars’resentment toward eight-part essay. On the other hand, Wuzhong scholars reconstructed the theory of eight-part essay writing with the direction of "writing egg-part essay with the methods of classical prose" to change the ill situation of prose writing. The effort was made on the basis of adjustment to the relationship between eight-part essay and classical prose. A summarization of Wuzhong scholars’ literary orthodoxy, essay exordiums, poetic orthodoxy, and poetic exordiums is made from Chapter Three to Chapter Six. In these narration, the chapter on literary orthodoxy takes a close look at Wuzhong scholars’ positive attitude to essay composition.They spared no efforts to advocate advocate the essence of "chronicle"in historical classics of Qin and Han Dynasties and the features of "essay"in those pieces of Northern and Southern Dynasties. In the meantime it is w ell worth research that they took differentiated attitude to the essay of Tang and Song Dynasties wi th the latter in particular.Based on the understanding of the type of article, Man-of-letters in Wuzhong area try to emphasize on the criticism of social problems, as the most important factor of article. While, on the problem of the relationship of literariness and plain, many of them show their interesting in the literariness. In terms of theory of articles, the distinguishes of articles are also the focus, especially in the narrative style articles. In addition to this, adapt to the local cultural traditions, in the issue of articles creative path selection, they do not only like erudition in ancient literacy, but also emphasis on innovation. In the chapter of the View of Poetry, we focused on their poetry patriarchal orientation. During this period, Man-of-letters in Wuzhong area indulged in landscape, they learn from the Han, Wei and Six Dynasties, Tang and Song Dynasties, at the same time, their poetry have demonstrated a kind life of leisure, and their aesthetic interesting was peaceful style, then, they show their interesting in Landscape Poetry of Xie Lingyun, Wang Wei, and Meng Haoran. Man-of-letters in Wuzhong area not only prefer straightforward in poetry, but also they like studing from Bai Juyi on the popular saying, which need particularly study. In terms of the theory of poetry, Man-of-letters in Wuzhong area like promoting feelings, at the same time, they also conducted a more in-depth thinking on the content and form of expression of the "feeling", the free expression on personal emotions is the most important concern of Man-of-letters in Wuzhong area in this period.
