Truck drivers are one of the groups which might get into high risk behavior leading to contracting STDs/HIV due to their sexually active age, high mobility, away from their families often, high freedom in visiting sex workers during their traveling, and the growing number of inns and restaurants along highways which providing accommodations, as well as sex service, in many parts of China.Guangxi province is located in southwestern China bordering Vietnam. In recent years, with the development of local and foreign trade, there appeared commercial sex service along highways provided by native Guangxi girls and some Vietnamese girls.Shandong province located in the east coast of China has a relatively developed economy and highway network connecting all parts inside and outside the Province. Business of the inns along highways is also developing rapidly, including sex services, in addition to their regular food catering.KABP studies and physical check-ups, blood testing for HIV and syphilis, cervix and urethra secretion culture among the inn attendants and urine rapid test among truck drivers for gonorrhea under informed consent were carried out in both provinces to understand the prevalence of STDs/HIV among these populations followed by an intervention program for half of the sample subjects...
