Study On The Construction And Evaluation Of A New Public Health System In Bao'an, Shenzhen

ObjectPublic health is an essential part for the development of national economy and society. It is closely related to the health status of each individual, which contribute to the prospect of the whole country and the overall social development. After suffering from the outbreak of SARS, the current public health system in China is in a key developing period, facing both opportunities and challenges. The evolution in public health system is undertaking in a complicated background of social transformation in China.This study, based on a typical analysis and evaluation of the public health system in 1993-2003 in Baoan, Shenzhen, systematically reviewed the reform and development of the public health system. The experience from building up a new public health system in Baoan has been analyzed in order to provide suggestions for policy makers of the development of public health, to provide scientific evidence for the construction of public health system in Baoan and to provide reference for public health practitioners in other regions in China.MethodsAn overall, profound analysis of the construction of Baoan public health system has been conducted, using evidence-based principles.
