Apoptosis is & morphologically distinct process of cell death different from necrosis. It plays an important role in a vide variety of physiological circumstances, such as being involved in maintenance of a constant cell number in tissue homostasis as a counterbalance to cell division. Although many available data suggust that dysregulation of apoptosis might contribute to tumourigenesis, relation of apoptosis with carcinogenesis of human lung caneer remains poorly understood. To investigate the role of dysregulation of balance between apoptosis and proliferation, and abnormal expression of somegenes related with apoptosis and cell cycle during development of human lung cancer would be helpful to the therapy of lung cancer and elucidation of lit earcinogenesis,An immortalized human bronchial epithelial cell line Y was established in our laboratory by transfection of a plasmid containing the early region of SV40 into bronchial epithelial cells from an adult female who doesn't suffer from tumor. The cell line T and 47 cases of NSCLC (non-small cell lung cancer) and 33 cases of its adjacent bronchial tissues wore investigated in our study.Major results wore summarised as follows.I. the Immortalixed cell line Y: 1. The cellular biological characteristics of the cell line Y changed during serial passages: The latter passage of the cell line Y showed...
